In her long career as a physiotherapist, she attended approximately 100 post-graduate courses / conferences in the field of orthopaedics. For over 25 years her business partner and she organized courses for physiotherapists in the field of manual therapy and pain sciences. They invited many internationally renowned speakers to teach their courses in Montreal, enabling hundreds of physiotherapists in Québec to keep up-to-date in the field of Orthopaedics. Doreen also personally explored the “alternative” approaches to treatment such as the Cranio-sacral approach (with Dr. Philip Greenman at Michigan State University), and Visceral courses with the Barral Institute. She attended many IFOMPT conferences around the world since 1992, as well as all International Fascia Research Conferences since their inauguration at Harvard in 2007. She is a member of the Fascia Research Society (FRC) and recently participated as part of an expert panel on the development of content validity for Hands-on-Data-Acquisition (HODA), a research project headed by Jo Abbott in the UK.
Doreen has been an invited speaker in a number of symposiums and conferences, both in Canada and in Switzerland, presenting on a number of topics related to manual therapy, and more recently on dysfunctions of the fascial systems.
